Lift The Cup This Summer With Van Der Windt
Van der Windt is helping Dutch football fans to get behind their team this summer as the company brings a touch of flair to celebrations across the Netherlands.
Van der Windt Verpakking, is helping people across the Netherlands to ‘lift the cup’ this summer, with the launch of celebratory paper cups ahead of the 2012 European Championships and 2012 Olympic Games in London.
The cups, which are suitable for hot and cold drinks, each carry a QR code which enables smartphone users to watch a different video each day in the build up to, and during, the tournament in Poland and Ukraine, which starts in June 8th.
The cups, which carry quotes from the Dutch national anthem, are being launched in Holland on Koninginnedag (or Queen’s Day) on April 30th. The QR codes will link to videos including interviews of the players, clips of the greatest ever Dutch goals, and highlights from the matches.
Marjon Duijvestijn, from Van der Windt, said: “These paper cups are Van der Windt’s contribution to the ‘orange madness’ that takes place in Holland whenever there is a major international football tournament and the Olympic games. We are launching them to coincide with activities that take place across the country as part of the Koninginnedag national holiday.
“We want to help raise the excitement levels as the country prepares to get behind the team and these cups are an excellent way of doing that, whilst showing what Van der Windt can do.
“QR codes are the hottest thing in packaging at the moment and people are always looking for more innovative ways of using them.
“The Netherlands lost only narrowly to Spain in the World Cup final in 2010 and we are sure they can go one better this time.”
The paper cups are completely CO2 neutral and are available in wholesale packages of 100 units and in consumer packaging of 20 units.
